'RIDDICK' TRAILER & POSTER: VIN DIESEL RULES THE DARK AGAIN
It's been just under a decade since Vin Diesel growled his way around the universe as intergalactic mass murderer and tank top enthusiast, but the full theatrical trailer for this fall's Riddick suggests that Diesel hasn't lost a sci-fi step.
In fact, this new look at Riddick, accompanied by a new poster, makes it quite clear that the third adventure of Diesel's other signature character will be the Riddickiest one yet.
The character was introduced and given a moral arc as part of the ensemble thirteen years ago in the happily down and dirty Pitch Black. For the 2004 sequel The Chronicles of Riddick, however, Diesel and writer-director David Twohy awkwardly put the anti-hero at the center of an ostentatious summer event movie with a PG-13 rating that inhibited Riddick's propensity towards casual violence. That sequel was intended to kick off a space opera trilogy, but Riddick isn't the follow-up that Diesel and Twohy originally planned.
